Pío del Ramo’s Winery Barrels in Pío del Ramo’s winery

Modern wineries with a traditional taste

Between the mountain ranges of Madroño and Parda lay Bodegas Pío del Ramo, a winery founded in 2007 thanks to the effort and boldness of its creator: Pío del Ramo Nuñez.

It’s here, in this land linked to the vines and the wine since time immemorial, where its creator managed to achieve his dream. A dream that was a mix of passion, know-how, and the knowledge of the land and the vines. This all together yields fantastic wines that honor both D. O. Jumilla as well as Tierras de Castilla P. G. I..

The winery has about 27000 ft² in facilities. Equipped with last generation machinery, it’s a top class facility destined to ellaborate top quality wines.

Don’t be deceived by its rustic looks, since this is how it blends perfectly with the local architecture while hosting state of the art technology for us, thus allowing us to make wine under clean, safe and highly controlled circumstances.

Since the beginning of the project and building of the facilities, we have thoroughly watched every detail in order to work faster and better. No expense was spared when acquiring the best and newest machinery. This allowed us to center our efforts in the wine ellaboration process.

One of the facilities, equipped with the most advanced means, is destined to the process of turning grapes into wine. We also count on a wine cellar, where wines are let to rest until our enologist decides that they are ready to be bottled, shipped and consumed.

In summary, in our winery we control the whole process: since the plots where the grapes ripe, until the bottling and shipping. Everything so that you can enjoy at home our delicious wines.

WINE MAKING

Currently Denominación de Origen Jumilla wines are made with the most advanced techniques. This, together with the thorough care for the grapes, yields an excellent quality to Jumilla wines. For these reasons, Denominación de Origen Jumilla has become an ever-growing, outstanding category both within Spain and abroad.

The making and aging of Jumilla wines happens at cellars located within the D. O. zone. For their making we have the most advanced facilities at our disposal: sorting tables, squeezing machines, cooling units, bladder presses, etc.

Aging cellars have a constant temperature and a dry environment through all the year, applying the proper humidity and ventilation. There our wines can peacefully age under the careful watch of our wine expert. For crianza wines, we use our best quality wines and the finest oak barrels.
